Donald J. "DJ" Humphrey II

Donald J. “DJ” Humphrey II is the son of Lt. Col. Donald J. Humphrey, a United States Army Air Force B-29 bomber pilot in World War II. DJ enjoyed writing in college, which likely helped him graduate as valedictorian of his class with a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies. His education and experiences prepared him for this unique opportunity to write his father’s fascinating true story of survival, faith, and salvation.

Now retired after a 30-year career as a real estate broker, DJ had the time to write his father’s book. He hopes his father is looking down from heaven with a proud and pleased smile, knowing that his son finally wrote the book he had always wanted to be written and published.

I'm an Australian author and my debut novel, Deadly Secrets is available in both paperback and eBook format and will be available in hardback soon. It's currently long-listed for the 2021 Davitt Awards (Sisters In Crime Australia). Deadly Secrets is an Australian mystery thriller.

Several of my short stories have appeared in the Scarlet Leaf Review Magazine (Canada), the UK anthology ‘When Stars Will Shine’, the Australian anthology ‘Fledglings’, and the UK Writers’ and Readers’ Magazine.

I live in Adelaide, South Australia. Besides writing, traveling, and discovering new places, is my passion. I've visited many fabulous countries and cities around the world. I keep a daily travel journal and take copious photos and these inspire scenes for my stories e.g. Deadly Secrets begins in Paris and has scenes set in Normandy, Nice, and Barcelona before returning to Australia. I'm an avid theatre-goer and enjoy art exhibitions and galleries. Of course, I love to read and some of my favorites writers are Elliot Perlman, Anna Funder, John le Carré, Scott Turow, and Peter Temple.

The wonder of being alive never gets old for me. I am enraptured daily by the variety of living, breathing, crawling, and flying things. The look in my kitties' eyes as they wait impatiently for food. Their soul is reflected in their eyes as they look at me with trust and care. This past year was a test of endurance, of seeing my loved ones on a computer screen, staying home to feel safe. It's hard to come out of this unscathed, feeling secure. I hope normacy returns. Writing a book this year definitely helped my spirit to soar as my mind escaped out of my house.

Kristin Ward

Kristin Ward

Kristin Ward is an award-winning author from Connecticut. She embraces her inner nerd regularly, geeking out with SciFi flicks or quoting 80s movies while expecting those around her to chime in with appropriate rejoinders. As a nature freak, she can be found wandering the woods - she may be lost, so please stop and ask if you see her - or chilling in her yard with all manner of furry and feathered friends. Often referred to as a unicorn by colleagues, in reality, the horn was removed years ago, leaving only a mild imprint that can be seen if she tilts her head just right. A lifelong lover of books and writing, she dreamed of becoming an author for thirty years but lazed about and didn’t publish anything until 2018. Her debut novel, After the Green Withered, is the first of other stuff you should probably read.

Kim Carter is a multi-award-winning author and critically acclaimed writer of gripping suspense, chilling thrillers, and haunting historical mystery novels.

Kim is widely known for her vibrant characters in her Clara and Iris Mystery series, a couple of overly curious widows who turn private investigators. These funny women were inspired by Kim's mother and her mom's best friend. An avid reader of mystery novels herself, she embarked on writing as a means of filling her time. Her health struggles and successes have been chronicled on The Lifetime Television in early 2000, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Women's Day Magazine, and Guidepost.

With seven acclaimed mystery titles to her credit, Kim worked in many different capacities in county government. Still, it was ultimately her job as a correctional officer who provided her with opportunities to talk and interact with a diverse group of people. Her experiences ran the gamete of inspiring success stories to tragic endings, much like she writes within her mysteries.

Kim began networking and made connections with numerous homicide detectives, medical examiners, and prison officials. Her research has taken her to many places, including morgues, death row, and the occasional midnight visit to cemeteries, all places to gain material for her novels.

Kim is a college graduate of Saint Leo University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She is an avid reader, has raised three grown successful children; she currently resides outside Atlanta, Georgia.

Come with me on a journey as we experiment and taste and learn together about the latest on microgreens.

Nutrition | Science | Trends | Business

📷Our family dinners start with vegetables, grain, and whatever meat you want. Every meal must have something “green” on it, and it’s not Jell-O, LOL!

In 2019 a friend introduced my wife and me to microgreens. They were flavorful and tasty on our evening meal. Then we started hanging out at some of the better restaurants in the city. Everyone, it seemed, was talking about these microgreens.

I would describe myself as a reluctant writer. But when a story comes along that demands to be told, you pick up your pen.

Six years ago, I heard the story of a friend’s father in World War II. I was so moved by his telling of the story that I asked if he would allow me to write it. The result is the soon-to-be-published “They Called Him Marvin.” My life has been touched in so many ways by being part of documenting this profound story.

My career as an addiction counselor (CDP) lead me to write “The Waterfall Concept; A Blueprint for Addiction Recovery" and co-author "Reclaiming Your Addicted Brain."
After my counseling retirement, I decided I wanted to learn more about the craft of writing and started attending classes at Portland, Oregon’s Attic Institute.

I learned that there is an amazing number of great writers in my area and were willing to help others improve their skills. My next project is already underway, a memoir of growing in SW Washington called “Life on a Sorta Farm.”

My wife of 49 years, Susan, and I still live in the southwest Washington area. We raised seven children and have eleven grandchildren. We love to travel and see the sites and cultures of the world. I still get on my bicycle whenever I can.

I was born and raised in a small historical town in northern Ohio. After having lived in various parts of the United States and for a short time in Germany, my husband and I have found our forever home in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina.

I have two grown daughters, two lovely grandchildren, and a husband who supports everything I do no matter what it is.

When I'm not writing, thinking about writing, or plotting my next novel, I'm busy preparing a telephone Bible Study that’s I've been doing for years.

A long-time lover of romance novels, I would like nothing more than to sit on a deserted beach somewhere sipping iced tea and reading to my heart’s content. My husband and I travel to visit family and friends in my hometown where I browse and delight in my favorite library.

I have been telling stories fory m entire life. No, really. In kindergarten I won the best story teller award, and one can only imagine what those tall tales were like. Ask me sometime about The Magic Pencil, one of the first stories I ever put down on paper and that I still likes to pull out for a laugh now and then. It’s unintentionally hilarious, truly.

While pursuing my degree in Administration of Justice I finished her first full length novel, Endless Numbered Days, which was published by Martin Sister’s Publishing in 2014. I have since published the Rust series, comprised of four young adult fiction novels. I'm currently set to release my sixth novel, a dystopian pancdemic novel called Transmission in September of 2021.

Besides writing I'm an avid reader and book reviewer, a National Parks enthusiast, and frequent traveler. I have three fur babies that take up 90% of my time: a 100+ pound German Shepherd lovingly named Ronan Lynch after ym favorite literary character, a beagle named Lord Vader (a girl) after my all time favorite baddie, and a cat named Kitty Russell after the iconic Gunsmoke saloon owner. I love music, going to the movies, D&D, and anything involving horror.

Life is an extraordinary journey. It is full of challenges and unsolved tasks that are put in front of us on the constantly moving and changing road towards Nirvana, the place that today we refer to as Happiness.

My life hasn’t been different. Due to family upheavals, I have been in charge of my choices since the age of 14. I put myself through high ranking academic education and left my homeland for a strange country on a one-way road. When the old door firmly closed behind me, it opened up many new ones. I travelled the world, lived in different countries on different continents, learned new languages, new behaviours, new traditions, new religions and went through new relationships. I struggled, enjoyed, laughed, cried, loved and hated on the roller-coaster that I managed to hang onto with the help of the rock-hard faith in myself.

I understand that life only gives us challenges we are able to handle, cleverly pushing us out of the comfort zone to taste the fresh air and new experiences around. I established that regardless of the background, upbringing, religion, colour and education, under those layers we all are very similar and have the same goal. The approach might be different but the aim is Happiness.

On my journey, I learned about the interrelated micro- and macrocosm. I became a REIKI Master-Healer, an Initiated Witch, an Orixa Shamanic Master, and a Phoenix Initiated Educator. With all these lessons, healing the mind and body became a natural addition to my capabilities.

Today, I have an established philosophy - I call AKIA - that searches for the interaction between earthlings and nature, also Earth and the universe. I have eleven books published and many faithful students. I am an Intimacy & Family coach and help people to find their purpose. The joy of seeing them succeed gives me the strength to find new adventures and learn from new experiences.

I consider myself an anthropologist of the unseen soul and cosmic knowledge, constantly searching for the matrix.

I believe that learning is the only way to understand life and us within, and this unique knowledge makes us or breaks us at the end. It is naïve to assume that all that we do here comes instinctively. Yes to the what to do however, the how to do needs deeper comprehension, courage and confidence. I also understand that being in a relationship is rather a tool than a necessity towards finding the yellow brick road that leads to the fulfilment and ultimately to Happiness. Hang on there!
