General Writing Contest Guidelines

  1. Submission Deadline
    Please submit your entry by June 30, 2026.
     

  2. Word Limits

    • ​Fiction, Nonfiction, and YA/Coming-of-Age: Up to 150,000 words.

    • Children’s Books: Up to 100,000 words.

    • Poetry: No word limit.
       

  3. ​Original Work
    We accept original published and unpublished work. There are no publication date requirements.
     

  4. Language
    Entries must be written in English.
     

  5. File Format
    Please submit your manuscript as a PDF, Pages or Word document.
     

  6. Entry Fee
    See entry options above for pricing.
     

  7. Multiple Entries
    You’re welcome to enter more than one book. Each title should be submitted as a separate entry.
     

  8. Judging
    Our judges evaluate submissions for creativity, originality, and writing quality.
     

Category Notes

 

  • Fiction: All genres welcome.

  • Nonfiction: All genres welcome.

  • YA/Coming-of-Age: All genres welcome, as long as the story focuses on teen or new adult experiences and personal growth.

  • Children’s Books: Ages 3–12, all genres welcome.

  • Poetry: All forms and styles welcome.
