Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year, with all the white and fluffy snow around, Christmas decorations, and of course - all the presents. So, if we couldn't bring you straight into the Christmas spirit mood by mentioning ''snow'' and ''Christmas'' - then we will try another way. We have gathered some of the best Christmas books for you to have at hand. Because Christmas and a nice book go together like hot cocoa with marshmallows. So without further ado, let's get into our festive book recommendation list.

1 - A Madrid Christmas by Maria R. Riegger

A Madrid Christmas is a Christmas romance novel, which can be the perfect cozy winter read. That is a sweet novella about Ariana, Spanish-American that stuck in the Spanish capital city- Madrid for Christmas. It looks like she has no other choice but to spend the Christmas night with Sergio and his family. Bonding over their cross-cultural differences and Spanish art history, they quickly become friends and maybe more than that.


2 - Charlotte's Snowman by Lainey Dee

Charlotte's Snowman is a sweet children's book, which tells the magical story of Charlotte and her new friend - the Snowman. There are lots of pictures and images inside the book. The illustrations are colorful, bright, and beautiful.





3 - Gobbledy by Lis-Anna Langston

It is a heartwarming story full of love and happiness. Dexter and his brother Dougal meet that creature from outer space, and they dubbed it Gobbledy. Very well-written, sweet story with an easy vocabulary that is understandable to every kid.




4 - The Nutcracker by E.T.A Hoffmann

The Nutcracker by E.T.A Hoffmann is the original story, whereas Tchaikovsky's famous ballet was based on Alexandre Dumas's adaptation of the Hoffmanns fairytale. That imaginative and fascinating classic that has inspired authors and composers for centuries was written in 1816.

A Christmas Carol remains one of the most beloved Christmas reads of all time. The book tells the iconic tale of Scrooge, who is visited by the ghost of Christmas of past, present, and future, in order to change him and stop being so selfish and greedy. We will all agree that Charles Dickens is a classic.





6 - The Greatest Gift by Philip Van Doren Stern

The Greatest Gift is a classic Christmas story written in 1943, and it is a truly inspirational and heartwarming story. This book is really short and would make a great quick read as sometimes the holidays are so busy. That is a story about a man who contemplates suicide until he receives an opportunity to see what the world would be like without him.




7 - Letters from Father Christmas by J. R.R. Tolkien

Letters from Father Christmas is a precious collection of illustrations and the actual letters of Tolkien to his children during Christmas, where he pretends to be the real Santa Clause. That is a charming and heart-melting book, telling the adventures of Santa and the polar bear.





8 - One Day in December by Josie Silver

One Day in December is a contemporary romance that tells the story of a girl who doesn't believe in love at first sight. But one day she is on a bus, and she notices a man, then she decides that he is the One. She spends a whole year searching for this same man.





9 - The Gift by Cecilia Ahern

The Gift is a contemporary Christmas novel about a man, Lou, who is constantly busy at work, and one day he meets a homeless chap outside of his workplace. Intrigued by this man, Lou helped him get a job, but what Lou didn't know at that time was that his new encounter is about to gift him a special gift. An enjoyable and funny read, which brings a very heartwarming Christmassy message.



10 - The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand

The Afterlife of Holly Chase is actually a Christmas carol retelling. Holly, the main character, is visited by a Christmas ghost, who offered her the chance to change her selfish way of living. However, she refused, and now she has died, and she has to work for a project scrooge to prevent others from walking down the same path. That is a very different and, unique story with a protagonist so selfish, which is very different from what we usually expect in a Christmas story.


11 - Skipping Christmas by John Grisham

Skipping Christmas is the perfect refreshing Christmas story. Luther and Nora Krank decide that they want to skip Christmas this year and go on a cruise because their daughter will be away for Christmas. But it turns a disaster situation, and they got everybody upset about their decision. The story is funny and engaging.





12 - The Christmas Train by David Baldacci

The Christmas Train is an interesting and engaging story with a tiny bit of mystery and second chance romance. Tom must travel from Washington to Los Angelis by train over Christmas, so he embarks on that long journey. He begins a journey to rediscover the true meaning and joy of Christmas.
