When did you start writing?

What makes writing your passion?
I wanted to share my story in hopes that I could encourage and inspire people with like mine to become a survivor of sexual abuse rather than a victim


How long have you been writing?
Since 10th grade. I started with poems.


What was the feeling when you published your first book?
I was excited and I felt accomplished


What’s the story behind your choice of characters?
I chose to write my biography because I wanted people with stories like mine to see the courage I had to publicly expose my predator.


What annoys you the most in pursuing a writing career?
Getting an unfair contract


How do you get over the “writer’s block”?
I've never had it


We all know the writer’s path is never easy, what makes you keep going? What advice would you give to new authors?
I keep going because I've received stories great people I've inspired to be a survivor. Knowing that I've helped so many people makes me want to continue reaching out to more victims


If you could go back in time and talk to your younger self, what would you say?
I would tell myself hold on and don't give up because what was meant to stop you or harm you will one day help you be victorious.


Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with the bad ones?
Yes and I haven't had a bad one yet


What is the feeling when you get a good review?
I'm very happy


Have you ever incorporated something that happened to you in real life into your novels?
Yes


Which of your characters you can compare yourself with? Did you base that character on you?
Sadiyyah because I wrote the story about my life.


What do you think, the book cover is as important as the story?
I think they are equally important but the cover is how people choose your book to read so the cover is definitely important.


Do you connect with your readers? Do you mind having a chat with them or you prefer to express yourself through your writing?
Yes I connect with them and yes I would chat with them.


How do you feel when people appreciate your work or recognize you in public?
I feel inspired to write more books. I also feel grateful and honored.

What’s the dream? Whom would you like to be as big as?
I'm hoping to big as mrs. Mcmillan


Would you rewrite any of your books? Why?
No


If you could switch places with any author – who would that be?
No one


What would you say to the “trolls” on the internet? We all know them – people who like to write awful reviews to books they’ve never read or didn’t like that much, just to annoy the author.
Don't judge my story because I lived the worst of it to come out victorious


What would you say to your readers?
Feel my story and take the journey with me.

I'm in pensacola florida. I'm married with 2 children. I'm 36 years old

Yes my life story can help people

Less classes. More study time
