Description
Alec Driver, a WWII veteran, uses the GI bill to earn an advanced degree in music from a prestigious university. The Ninth Passage by Dale O. Cloninger is an interesting novel. It is well written and captivating. The characters go through a lot but they manage to overcome the hardships. The story feels very real, so do the characters. I enjoyed it.
The whole story and the way it's written is quite ... life-like. The Ninth Passage by Dale O. Cloninger is the first book I read from that author and to be frank, I'm glad I got to write a review.
As it is mentioned in a previous review, the story is based on real events, but it is still a work of fiction. That fact gives the book that authentic feel, the feeling that this is something that can and probably had happened off the pages of the book. But it's not at all just that - Mr. Cloninger has his way with words, the way he describes Florida's West Coast, the scandalous relationship between Alec and Tracy, the public's reaction, and the details make you dive in and experience the story as if you're witnessing it. I'll give out no spoilers, I don't want to ruin your experience with this book - get a copy and see for yourself.
