Rick Norris married his high school sweetheart and has been married to her for 43 years to a now retired University Professor. They have four adult children.

 

He taught the Bible to Sunday school teens for thirty-one years, and to many adults for decades. Since 2011, in addition to contributing to his local church ministries, he volunteers as an international online missionary for a Christian non-profit where he disciples individuals, teaches an international bible study, councils, and answers questions from people who inquire about a life with Jesus.

 

Rick is the innovator of the first musical novels where angel characters sing to the reader when a QR Code is activated in paperback, or hyper-link in eBooks.

 

His first novel, Angelic Wars: First Rebellion, received recognition, including second place by the 2020 Catholic Press Association for best novel, a five-star rating from Readers’ Favorite Book Reviews, and a bronze medal form the eLit Awards.

 

He released his second musical novel, Angelic Wars: End of the Beginning in 2022 which won the Best Christian Novel in the 2022 New York Book Awards and received a five-star rating from Readers’ Favorites Book Reviews.

 

Also available is Into the Mind of Lucifer, which is a forty-eight-page free prequel to the Angelic Wars series written from Lucifer’s point of view, featuring the period before the heavenly rebellion. The author gave Lucifer forty-six pages to state his case before he received judgment.

 

Rick’s creative writing instruction began over a decade ago, initially working with New York Times Best-selling Christian genre author, Susan May Warren. Since then, he has taken two online writing classes with Professors Brooks Landon and James Hynes of the University of Iowa and has learned from various editors who have reviewed his manuscripts.

 

Rick earned a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 1979 and a law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 1985. He also earned a license as a Certified Public Accountant in 1982 and sold his CPA practice at the end of 2020.

 

He is a songwriter/musician and member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (Grammys). The novels’ music, in addition to being accessible from the books, is available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and many other music outlets.
