Annette Austin is a self-published author who has written ten books covering the genres of historical romance, crime fiction and contemporary romance.

Before embarking on a writing career, Annette predominantly had a career in finance. After having a dream, she began writing ‘The Fall of the House of James,’ in December 2012. When she lost her job, Annette committed to writing full-time. Despite having many personal struggles, Annette finally published the interracial romance novel in June 2018. The historical romance book, ‘The Fall of the House of James,’ spent some time at the Number 1 spot on Amazon (History of Antebellum U.S. Chart.) All six of the books in The James Saga have garnered five-star reviews on Amazon.

Recently, Annette changed course in her writing career and began to write short stories again under her real name. Two of her short stories, ‘The Bondage Tribe,’ and ‘The Well of Life,’ have been published in the Alternate History and Hidden Realms Short Stories Anthologies by Flame Tree Publishing in 2023.

‘To Sleep With A Stranger,’ is Annette’s first contemporary romance novel. She will continue this steamy romance, a part of the Complete Strangers to Fiery Lovers series in ‘Another Heartbreak.’

Annette has resumed working on the historical romance series, The James Saga, writing the sixth instalment, ‘A Sweet Taste For Revenge,’ which was published in 2025.

Her latest publication, ‘This Broken Family,’ is an emotional contemporary short read detailing the power of heartbreak and forgiveness.

She is currently working on the seventh book in The James Saga, ‘Victory Or Surrender.’ Annette hopes to publish this historical romance book shortly.

Away from writing, Annette loves to read, exercise, especially yoga, sings loudly to 1980s pop music, and loves watching sports.
