The Bayou Princess
Jeffrey Pipes Guice
She was a princess who lived in the Bayou
They called her by many names
But it didn’t matter what you called her
She would turn her victims into flames
They said she was an evil spirit
And she liked to wrestle with her snake
No one had ever seen the princess
But they knew her spells would take
Hey, my Bayou princess
Will you burn my man alive
Make him beg you for some mercy
And take away his cheatin’ drive
You could hear the screams from the Bayou
When she was performing a mighty spell
Just leave some silver on the old tree stump
In the morning, there was a nasty smell
The cheaters would never be seen again
As the wild dogs would howl at night
When the moon shone over the Bayou
It's enough to give anyone the fright
Hey, my Bayou princess
Will you burn my man alive
Make him beg you for some mercy
And take away his cheatin’ drive
The women loved the Bayou princess
She would make the evil go away
No one wants a cheatin’ man
In the Bayou, that's just their way
The women loved the Bayou princess
She would make the evil go away
No one wants a cheatin’ man
In the Bayou, that's just their way
Hey, my Bayou princess
Will you burn my man alive
Make him beg you for some mercy
And take away his cheatin’ drive
