When did you start writing?

I loved writing and reading all my life, but it wasn't until I started my own editing business ten years ago and started working with authors that it pushed me over the edge from 'always wanting to' to 'I'm going to do this!'

What makes writing your passion?

I'm not sure. The desire to write has been with me since I was a child. I love the process of thinking about the plot, where I want the story to take place, how I want the characters to behave, and then making the story come alive. I enjoy dropping dollops of my own experiences into the story.

What was the feeling when you published your first book?

Publishing Every Breath She Takes was exhilarating! I recently published Catching Her Breath, the second book in the Breathtaking series, and that felt even better.

What’s the story behind your choice of characters?

I want my heroine to have her own voice even though she struggles through life's issues, and my hero, as a supporting character, to be strong and supportive when he needs to be, allowing her to be her true self.

What annoys you the most in pursuing a writing career?

How do you get over the “writer’s block”?

I don't think of it as writer's block. It takes time for me to figure out how I want to start my next book, but that doesn't bother me. I've discovered that when I figure out the location and the names of the main characters it creates a connection and propels me forward. And , yes, I am a 'fly by the seat of my pants' writer.

You did it!

Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with the bad ones?

How could I not read my reviews? As a new author, I haven't had to deal with bad ones yet. But when I do, I'm guessing it will involve a few tears and a glass of wine.

What is the feeling when you get a good review?

A good review is a wonderful reminder that someone out there loved my book. it's close to euphoric.
