Short Description

In 18th century Milan, a duchessa is thrusted from her horse and into the estate of another esteemed member of the king's court. Lilliana is unable to remember her accident or her identity. Duca Emmanuele notices that Duchessa Rosetta is complacent about their daughter's absence from the House of Montanari. During the duchessa's convalescence, she and the duca grow in affection towards one another. The maidservant, Noemi of the House of Montanari silently volunteers to help locate and retrieve the missing duchessa. Noemi enlists the help of her fellow maidservant, Gabriella. Noemi leaves the House of Montanari and encounters a proud vendor of pomegranates. He speaks of a tale of a fallen maiden taken into the care of a duca. He guides her to the House of Marchesi. The duchessa finally recalls her father's identity. The duchessa wishes to learn more of the duca. He introduces her to various quarters of the Marchesi mansion. The king and queen gather evidence and secure it in the royal vault. Alessandro proposes to her. Lilliana accepts. The Crown decides to proceed with the planned royal ball. All of the esteemed of the Milanese king's court are to attend.. The night of the royal grand affair arrives. Servants of the Houses of Montanari and Marchesi enter with the assistance of a royal servant. In separate royal chambers, the king and queen officiate Duca Alessandro and Duchessa Lilliana's nuptials.  Duca Emmanuele is right to be concerned for his daughter, for someone has conspired a dastardly plan against the duchessa, but who?  The king and queen have the answer and reveals it before the entire king's court.

Embedded in its fur is a gold charm he knows belong to the duchessa's bracelet. The horse reacts the same way when it threw Duchessa Lilliana on that fateful day when it hears familiar, abrupt blasts. Servants of the House of Marchesi inform Duca Alessandro of a maiden who has fallen onto his property. He directs them to carefully remove her to the bedchambers of the manor. The handsome signor cares for her and seeks to return her to her proper House. During the duchessa's convalescence, she and the duca grow in affection towards one another. The maidservant, Noemi of the House of Montanari silently volunteers to help locate and retrieve the missing duchessa. During her investigation, she discovers another of Duchessa Lilliana's gold charm. She decides to safeguard it. She realizes that Lilliana's mother, Duchessa Rosetta conspired a great harm against Lilliana before her accident. Noemi enlists the help of her fellow maidservant, Gabriella. They toil to rectify Lilliana's mother's plan. Noemi leaves the House of Montanari and encounters a proud vendor of pomegranates. He speaks of a tale of a fallen maiden taken into the care of a duca. He guides her to the House of Marchesi. The Marchesi butler, Rinaldi becomes a liaison between the Montanari maidservant and this House. She advises Duca Alessandro to keep her with him as she is safer under his authority and care and tells him what she has discovered about Duchessa Rosetta. Noemi eventually informs Duca Emmanuele that his daughter is safe. Duchessa Lilliana begins to remember. She is unaware of her mother's conspiracy and how long Rosetta had set her plans in place to secure additional wealth and prestige within the king's court. The duchessa finally recalls her father's identity. The duchessa wishes to learn more of the duca. He introduces her to various quarters of the Marchesi mansion. She inquires of an heirloom plume. The duca explains that one who possesses its compliment is likely the lost relation of the original House of Marchesi. The Crown learns of Rosetta's crimes. Some of the ennobled are aware as well. The king and queen gather evidence and secure it in the royal vault. Duca Alessandro and Duchessa Lilliana become more passionate with one another. He protects them both from exceeding the limits of their current circumstance. Alessandro proposes to her. Lilliana accepts. The Crown decides to proceed with the planned royal ball. Duchessa Rosetta attempts to steal Duchessa Lilliana's inherited Tahitian pearl necklace. Duca Emmanuele requests for Noemi to deliver it to his daughter. The night of the royal grand affair arrives. Servants, the highest of royals, the king and queen all endeavour to secure Rosetta and Emmanuele's nuptials---as well as their future. Will the conniving perpetrator who lied within the regal shadows before her plan is implemented?
