The love story was so romantic that it felt like fiction but it actually isn't. It is the story of the author's parents and it is lovely. R. Janet Walraven has a talent with words - the WWII is a period she wrote about was not only absolutely accurate but it also transferred me there via dance, music, the way people talked, the way they lived, everything. Also, there were real letters and photos that left me speechless. Rainbow of Promise is a must-read! I loved it!
Rainbow of Promise by R. Janet Walraven is a beautifully written romance book. The author successfully immersed me in the time period and I felt I was there. The details were fascinating, the author described the surroundings, the feel of the war, the mood and the shortages the people had to endure. The love story was delightful, sweet and a proof that there is true love in this world. A 5 star book, I highly recommend it!
