A bomb went off at Rick and Justin’s new restaurant L'Escalade!

And Justin is missing. Rick is wounded and stunned when he discovers Lora with her throat ripped open from shrapnel.

There are firefighters everywhere going through the rubble. Rick can see the ceiling of the second floor, where a floor should have been. The entire front of the restaurant is gone, and the smoke and dust are slowly clearing. Who could have done this? Why? Rick pulls himself out of from under the debris, one of which was a heavy table he’d used as a shield, and crawls over to Lora. She’s slumped against a pile of debris up against the wall, bleeding profusely. He does the only thing he can think of to save her.

Meanwhile, police are pulling people out of the rubble that is strewn all over the street and ambulances are flying back and forth taking victims to hospitals. What a New Year’s Eve this turned out to be.
