I was supposed to come home for one last summer. I didn’t plan on reminiscing with old friends, I didn’t plan on reliving the past and I sure as hell never expected to see the girl, I once tormented for my own enjoyment turn into something more beautiful than life itself. She had transformed herself into a stunning beauty and no matter what I do, I can’t look away from her. However, knowing that I’m the reason she grew up having an awful childhood is a hard pill to swallow. My only hope is that with the years gone by, she’ll somehow give me another chance.
I hadn’t thought about him for a long time. It took years to get over the torment he inflicted on me, simply because he could. It was easy to fight off the other kids when it came to their bullying, but with him, I simply couldn’t do it, and to this day I still don’t understand why. Now years later I’m a different person and I won’t allow for the same torment to happen again. However, the unexpected has happened because instead of tormenting me like when we were kids, he asking to be my friend. Can I do that? Can I give this man, who spent our childhoods making me miserable for no apparent reason an actual Chance?
Reviews Of The Book On BooksShelf
An Unexpected Chance by Anna Jenkins is an erotic romance that will capture your attention from the beginning till the end. The plot is captivating and well put.
Even though I'm not a fan of the erotic genre, I liked this book a lot!
I enjoyed that the main characters had a history together and their paths crossed once more. Their backstory hooked me. How do you allow a person in your life when he bullied you in the past? It is an interesting subject - how people change in time, the people that you once knew are not what you think they are...the bad and the good kids changed and even though we stay with the impression we had, the truth is that we don't know them anymore. Are you strong enough to give them a chance? This book makes you think about it...
Starting with bullying and ending up with forgiveness and all in between - many emotions, feelings and life-like situations are described beautifully in this book. The characters are well-developed and likable. I recommend!
