He drives away and thinks that the mess is over, his obligation to his club and brothers met. Iris has been planning her escape from Gideon and The Garden of Divine Light for six months, and is nothing but horrified when she comes across a man in the forest, smack in her escape route, clearly up to nothing good… but he’s still better than what she’s running from, so into the van she goes.
When the Road Devils discover Iris, they start to put the pieces together about who she is, what she’s been through, and why she ran into the winter night wearing only a nightgown and men’s boots. She’s down but not out, and she’s fiercely determined to start her life again – on her own terms this time – and part of that is her desire to not fear a man’s touch, a man’s kiss, a man’s body. And the only man that she feels safe around is the six-foot-seven, gentle, wildly-handsome Viking.
Viking and Iris slowly move towards each other, learning to trust each other, completely unaware that danger is coming their way. Gideon wants his property back, and he will stop at nothing to make sure that happens…
