I've been telling stories for almost five decades. First, as a sports play-by-play broadcaster of football, basketball, and baseball, and now as a writer of historical fiction. After retiring in 2023 as the voice of the Kansas City Royals, I moved to the beautiful Rocky Mountains to focus on writing. Beyond This World There is a World I Want is my fifth novel, following four award-winning books. My novel, Walks with the Wind, won the Writer’s Digest Grand Prize for self-published books in 2021, and Catching the Wind was a BookLife Editors’ Pick in 2022. My debut, The Walls of Lucca, and its sequel, Above the Walls, both won Gold Medals from Readers’ Favorite and Reader Views for Best Historical Fiction in 2018 and 2019.
