N.L. Holmes is a retired archaeologist who writes historical fiction set in the Bronze Age, including the award-winning Lord Hani Mysteries that take place in ancient Egypt. She lives in the countryside in northwestern France, where she weaves, plays the violin, and gardens--and reads, of course. She is married and has a grown son, two chickens, and two cats.
