Marc Zimmerman is an accomplished author, literary scholar, and Professor Emeritus of Latin American and Latino Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago. He has written and edited more than forty books on Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino cultural and literary studies, along with his widely praised Illusions of Memory autofiction series. A recipient of Fulbright and Rockefeller awards, Zimmerman has played a significant role in documenting Chicago Latino art and culture, with research materials preserved in the Smithsonian Institution’s Archives of American Art. He continues to write, lecture, and contribute to literary and cultural scholarship.
