Called “an irrefutably savage writer” by Self-Publishing Review, Laura specialises in speculative fiction with a focus on people. Her debut novel, The Fool, was released in 2025 to positive commercial response. The Fool was a finalist in the 2025 Wishing Shelf Awards, the 2026 Indieverse Awards (Book of the Year category) and the 2026 BooksShelf Awards. Her short story “All My Tuesdays” was shortlisted for the 2022 Aurealis Awards.

She’s also a devoted reader and a prolific crafter, with a new hobby at least every 6 months. She’s queer, disabled and wouldn’t want to be anyone else. She writes from Wadawarrung Country in regional Victoria, Australia with the help of her husband, dog and two cats. It is her life’s aspiration to write as fearlessly as the Fast and Furious writers do.
