About The Author
I have always loved to write and make up stories for children. I originally started writing when my four kids were small and several of them had problems with reading. I wrote simple stories about them and the family pets that they could read by themselves. I found a great deal of pleasure in writing these stories and later did self publish several of them. I have written three childrens' picture books, a book of short stories for young teens, and many short stories. I live on a small acreage in central Iowa, where many of the stories originate from. Always something going on here that is worthy of its own story!

Long Lost
This story began on November 13, 1950 at 4:38 in the afternoon. That was the day I was born. My name is Herminie Rockefeller Barnes. I know! It’s quite a name for a tiny baby to have to contend with, so Mom has always just called me Minie. I was named after my great-grandma. I guess if she could live 96 years with that name, I could deal with it, too!
