I grew up working in the fruit orchards and vineyards of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario – a setting which confirmed how utterly useless a farmer I was but which also piqued my interest in land use, road safety, architecture, built heritage, tourism planning, and sustainability.

We often only hear about major scandals at the provincial, state, and federal levels but that pales in comparison to the frequency of corruption that exists at the local level - where we actually live, work and play! Greed, manipulation, and deceit - there's so much of it in local planning, land development, and municipal politics. That's what I know and write about.
