Short Description
What if . . .
What if you could go back and re-live those painful, telling moments in a relationship and say the words you meant to say, perhaps take a different path to happiness? What if you were given those opportunities and assisted by the most unlikely of mentors? What if life were more like a dream, rather than a perfectly ordered sequence of time, in which events blended one into another, without reason at first, but suddenly made perfect sense?
What if there was a place that could make all this happen?
Welcome to the Village.

Description
ALICE MARTIN, author and history professor, finds herself in a tea shop somewhere in the Cotswolds of England, or in her imagination. The shop is run by a frightening woman resembling Helen Mirren as she portrayed Queen Elizabeth II in "The Queen." While Alice ponders the situation, historical persons she studied and wrote about, such as Joan of Arc and Richard III, offer unwanted advice on her life and past relationships with two men - Quinn Radcliffe, her high-school sweetheart, and Donovan Trist, an archeologist. No sooner does someone mention an event or moment in her life than Alice is there and relives those events. Her time travel goes from 1969 to 1981, and although she doesn't receive the answers she wanted, they are answers that lead to the resolution of her heartache.
