Short Description
Many writers write to inform, I write to inform and incite. I want to change your perspective and persuade you to think critically, not just about America, not just about China, but the place you call “home” and your place in it. Escape from America is about expanding our horizons and increasing our depth perception, with the added benefits of being a timely cultural exchange to help improve our understanding of one another while better understanding ourselves.

Description
Escape from America is not what you think it is… yet it’s everything that it shouldn’t be.
Inside you’ll discover a diversity of subject matter that’s benevolent, bold, feverish, frivolous, sometimes fanatical, and packaged into a persuasive narrative that defies classification—to help ensure I wouldn’t be doomed to languish as the least worst-seller of my genre!
I’ve culled years of experience living and working in America and China to bring you the real truth about the world’s dominant superpowers, which in spite of their adversarial relationship are aligned in more ways than we might imagine. And I reveal the real people beyond the political rhetoric to highlight the opinions, achievements, and anxieties relevant to us all.
Much can be learned from China in terms of tradition, tolerance, and technological innovation. Consider: Many developing nations share commonalities with China; many developed nations share commonalities with America. Yet China, in spite of its long history, is still a “young” country getting its wings. We from the West can say we’ve arrived—but have we really?
My writing style is uncommon and unpredictable—exactly what I sought for this book. Thus, my memoir, when it is a memoir, combines serious views softened with satirical discourse.
