Description

This book concerns Alex Craigie's fears about future decisions which might impose restrictions on accessibility to care and support in order to further line the pockets of private companies to the detriment of those of us dependent on the fairness of the current system.

It begins in 2017 and follows Cassie Lincoln through disturbing changes that come to a head for her in 2055. The successive Prime Ministers and their allegiances are deliberately unnamed because, in her opinion, the threat hasn’t been limited to any one party in recent years and little has been done by any party to prepare for the increasing burdens that aging Baby Boomers are imposing on the service.

The first third of the book documents these changes and their consequences. The rest of the novel is a thriller as Cassie and her granddaughter, Seren, work in secret with others to undermine a corrupt system.

At the heart of it is the family and the love within it.
