About The Author
Dr. Venugopal Menon is a retired physician, who wrote and published his memoirs, the well-acclaimed "My Mother Called Me Unni- A Doctor's Tale Of Migration".
Born and raised in colonial, British India during WW II, he witnessed the country gaining Independence, graduated as a doctor from the only medical school in the state, served the Indian army as a captain, and left the country in search of the American Dream. He was trained, board-certified, and received Fellowship in Pediatrics, Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and was also conferred a Fellowship by the Royal Society of Medicine, London. He served as an associate owner and President of a reputable clinic before retiring. The book is an exhilarating tale of a migrant realizing the proverbial American Dream.
