Biography

She has been working as an actor for 25 years. She has appeared at the Stratford Festival, Perchance Theatre at Cupids, The Watermark Theatre, The Sudbury Theatre Centre, The Lighthouse Festival, Ujima Theatre in Buffalo, among others.  On screen, Alexis has appeared as Gertrude Bell in the History Channel's Women Adventurers Series, and has had roles on Orphan Black, Frontier, and the films, Black Conflux and An Audience of Chairs. Alexis is also the author of the Bella James Mystery series. Her first book, Encore was shortlisted in 2016 for both an Arthur Ellis and Bony Blithe Award, and the sequel, Triple Threat was released in 2018. She is hoping that the series' third book, Revival, will be released sometime in 2020.


Alexis lives happily in St. John's, Newfoundland with her Bernedoodle, Sebastian, and she loves horror movies, dirty gin martinis, and has a terrible weakness for potato chips.
